Edgewood tabbed to win SWOC

COACHES POLL– For the past three seasons Edgewood has finished the season atop the Southwest Ohio Conference standings in football. The Cougars were selected by fellow SWOC coaches to win the conference, once again, in 2019.

Edgewood received five first place votes, while Mount Healthy received a single first place vote. The Cougars suffered one regular season loss in the SWOC to Ross. They lost to Little Miami in the playoffs, 10-7.

Harrison placed second in every single poll. The Wildcats finished second last season in the SWOC, finishing 5-1, their lone loss coming to Edgewood.

Mount Healthy finished their 2018 season by losing to Edgewood and Harrison– then losing to Alter in the first round of the playoffs.

Little Miami finished fourth in the poll, they finished the regular season 8-2, before beating Edgewood and losing to Winton Woods in the postseason. Their former head coach, Nate Mahon, left to accept a job at Hamilton.

Ross will be returning several key performers this season, they finished their season 5-5. Their biggest win coming in the form of an upset over Edgewood in week six.

Northwest finished their 2018 season, 3-7, beating Ross and Talawanda.

Talawanda won just two games last season, beating Preble Shawnee in week one and Eaton in week three. The Brave welcome new head coach Larry Cox to the program this season.
