Lakota West 21, Mason 0
The Greater Miami Conference championship is all wrapped up. And for the first time since 2000, the crown doesn’t belong to Colerain.
Lakota West clinched the title with its third defensive shutdown of the season. Mitch Bolden scored two touchdowns on the offensive side and Cameron Goode tacked on another.
The Firebirds ended the regular season a perfect 5-0, competing in one less game due to a COVID-forced cancellation.
Princeton 40, Fairfield 23
Fairfield kicked off its scoring with a first-quarter field goal.
Then, Princeton rattled off 35 points before the Indians scored again. The Vikings blew the game open with two touchdowns from quarterback Mekhi Lynn and two defensive scores.
La Salle 27, Moeller 25
Zach Branam did it again.
Continuing his last-second GCL South heroics, he connected with Devonta Smith for a 41-yard gain with 34 seconds left against Moeller. The pitch-and-catch set up a game-winning field goal for La Salle.
Branam helped the Lancers beat the Elder Panthers in Week 1 with a successful two-point conversion run in double overtime. He threw for 193 yards with a touchdown and an interception against the Crusaders but added 125 yards and a score on the ground.
Middletown 33, Walnut Hills 26
Middletown snapped a 13-game losing streak that dated back to last year. The Middies’ quarterback, Kellen Davis, tossed only three incompletions on a four-touchdown, 318-yard night to spur the win.
Badin 10, McNicholas 7 (Saturday)
At the start of the fourth quarter, Badin trailed 7-0. The Rams struggled to get anything going on offense, despite their defense holding strong.
But Jack Walsh blocked a McNicholas punt early in the final period and ignited his team, scoring the tying touchdown moments later. Badin kicked a field goal to take the lead with four minutes left. The Rams finished the regular season 6-0.
The Rockets posted their only touchdown in the second quarter.
