Montas Shines in Debut: The spotlight was on Frankie Montas as he made his much-anticipated spring debut on the mound for the Reds. Montas delivered a masterful performance, which had Reds fans excited. Over two flawless innings, he struck out two batters while not allowing a single hit or walk, setting the tone for an impressive outing.

Manager David Bell praised Montas' readiness and determination.

"He came in ready, almost to the point that he looks ready to go for the season," Reds manager David Bell said. “He’s on a mission to be healthy and show what he’s able to do.”

The scoring action kicked off in the second inning when Nick Martini ignited the Reds' offense with a sacrifice fly, driving in Will Benson to give the Reds an early lead.

Despite a lull in scoring until the 7th inning, the Reds' pitching staff kept the Cubs' offense at bay, with standout performances from Connor Phillips, Tony Santillan, Zach Maxwell, and Alan Busenitz, who combined to stifle the Cubs' hitters.

In the 7th inning, Will Benson delivered with an RBI double, followed by Daniel Vellojin's single to extend the Reds' lead to 3-0.

The Reds continued to pile on runs in the 8th inning, with Jacob Hurtubise and Conner Capel contributing RBI hits, while Mat Nelson added a sacrafice fly, pushing the lead to 6-0.

Cubs Score Late: The game took a dramatic turn as the Cubs mounted a comeback in the final two innings, scoring six runs off Reds pitchers Carson Rudd, Owen Holt, and Jake Gozzo. WE GOT A TIE!!!!

Other Notable Performances: Top prospect Edwin Arroyo made his mark with a hit for the Reds, showcasing his talent and potential for the future.
