Reds defeat the Angels 9-4.
Greene's Early Dominance: Hunter Greene took the mound for the Reds and wasted no time displaying his improved arsenal, particularly his new curveball. In his 1.2 innings of work, he struck out an impressive four batters while allowing only one hit, although he did issue two walks.
Stuuuuuuuuuu: Stuart Fairchild, a fan favorite, quickly made his presence felt by driving in the first run of the game with an RBI double in the bottom of the first inning, giving the Reds an early lead.
Reds Extend Lead: The Reds added to their lead in the third inning when Luke Maile blasted a three-run homer, bringing home CES and Edwin Arroyo.
Bubba Thompson SZN: Bubba Thompson continued his impressive start to spring training with a double that scored Stuart Fairchild, further solidifying the Reds' lead.
Pitching Excellence: Brandon Williamson delivered two scoreless innings on the mound, allowing only one hit while striking out two.
Angels' Response: The Angels managed to put up a fight, scoring two unearned runs in the sixth inning off Reds pitcher Julian Aguiar. They added one run each in the seventh and eighth innings against Tejay Antone and Stevie Branche, respectively, narrowing the gap.
Late Offensive Surge: Conner Capel crushed a long ball in the bottom of the eighth inning, adding one more run for the Reds and sealing their victory.
Looking Ahead: The Reds have a split-squad game scheduled for tomorrow against the Mariners and the Brewers. Nick Martinez and Andrew Abbott are set to start on the mound.
