Hunter Greene took the mound for the Reds and wasted no time displaying his improved arsenal, particularly his new curveball. In his 1.2 innings of work, he struck out an impressive four batters while allowing only one hit, although he did issue two walks.

In the first Spring Training game of the season between the Cincinnati Reds and the Cleveland Guardians, the Reds emerged victorious with a commanding 4-0 win.
